Nehemiah/Organic Journal Post #5

What a year it has been. The last journal post I discussed, and some may say vented about, our situation with the Nehemiah Project of the SBC.  At the time I was not at a good place with our convention. I feel I am a different person than I was regarding convention life than I was 4 years ago in Paris TN. I wish it could be different, but knowing what I know now I wouldn’t change a thing.

I received a few calls and grapevines that some weren’t too happy with what I posted. This is OK with me. I knew when I pressed “publish” that some would not like the series one bit, but I’m not out to make anyone happy with me or on the same hand I didn’t do this to tick people off either. To me it is an experience that I feel should be talked about. Because of posting it I was able to heal faster, have some incredible conversations with people and work out the “why’s” of what happened.

This brings me to a good point. Soon after I posted the last journal experience I received a call from a Missouri Convention man who wanted to talk about what happened. This conversation went great! They apologized for what happened to me, said it should have never happened the way it did, and offered to work with us in different ways. We were able to meet, talk out some things and come to a point of possibly working together in the future.

Today we are becoming more and more active with a group called DAWN. We are meeting more and more people who are called to do what we are doing with the organic church and all are outside the convention. In fact, when I talked with the guys from MO Bap. Convention they said that we were the only ones that they knew about in MO who were doing this type of church within the MBC.

Today I feel much better about what happened. Wouldn’t change a thing. To those who said they were sorry that I would write such a thing, I’m sorry I disappointed you. To those who were helped, I’m grateful God is shaping me and using me.  Together for His glory…
