Wellspring for KC

I was taken aback this week when I read an article from the Missouri Baptist online paper this past week on theology and the emerging church. Found here, it trashes a group of people, the Acts29 Network whom are in agreement with the MBC’s assessment of the emergent church. This committee also uses an SBC theology professor’s paper on the emerging church for it’s argument, but uses it out of context, forcing the professor to write an op-ed about what they claim he is saying. 

The convention seems like they are trying to distance themselves from everyone who differs in the area of alcohol, which is insanity! Here is another example….Church planters. Even though the document drafted by the MBC church planting team does not specifically say that one must teach abstinence from alcohol is the only way like the article implies, it comes close enough. The thing that burns me is the fact that they would tell you what to say to people in church or in bible studies when the bible is already clear about the dangers of drunkenness.
