FWD…
I have to laugh at 90% of the forwards I receive in my email box. Like today. I received the one about the troops overseas. It says something like “did you sleep comfortable last night? Did you adjust the heat or air, was your matress a little lumpy? If so, thank these guys.”
Then it goes on to show the troops sleeping in mud, in trenches, and the sort. I’m not negating the military, I have a strong military tradition in my family. But what I find is funny is, just like any other forward, the author thinks it will accomplish something. Do I feel guilty for sleeping in my bed while men and women are fighting? No. When you join the military you endure all sorts of things that the civilian doesn’t. I don’t know a soldier, sailor, marine, or airman who generally gives guilt trips for something they are trained to do. Would I do the same thing they are trained to do if I where in their shoes. You bet I would.
It’s kinda like the “If you love Jesus forward.” Jesus knows I love Him. I don’t have to forward an email and annoy 250 people in my address book to prove it. I wonder what some people think is going to happen to them at the judgement and they only sent 971 out of the 1000 “if you love Jesus” forwards out? Do those who don’t know Jesus as their personal savior and God send out the “if you love Jesus” forwards? Does this add to their torment in hell if they don’t?
What about those lovely ones like the O’Hara lady trying to get Touched By An Angel off TV? Are you kidding me?
Are you like me and sometimes write back saying “She’s dead!! Their is no bill on the floor against Dobson, Jesus doesn’t need my email’s to prove my love, and the troops would probably love it if we would pray for them, send them a thank you note with a treat inside!!”
